Video footage of Travis Kelce greeting his girlfriend Taylor Swift for the first time following his team’s Super Bowl LVIII triumph has gone viral on social media.
Following a nail-biting showdown on Sunday, Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs squeezed a 25-22 victory in overtime over the San Francisco 49ers at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium.
After jetting in from Japan, where she had performed on her Eras Tour the day before, Swift was on hand to cheer on Chiefs tight end Kelce as he and his teammates secured a back-to-back Super Bowl victory. The win gave Kelce his third Super Bowl ring.
After the Chiefs secured their 11th hour win, Swift departed the VIP box from which she had watched the game to greet Kelce on the crowded field.
In video footage that has gone viral on X, formerly Twitter, Kelce is seeing hugging his mother, Donna Kelce, as Swift patiently stands by and looks on.
Travis Kelce then makes a beeline for Swift as says, “Come here, girl,” before kissing her repeatedly on the cheek while tightly hugging her.
Swift then cups his face with her hands and plants more kisses on him as they continue celebrating his big moment. Faint applause is heard from onlookers as the pair rock side to side while continuing their public display of affection.
Within 40 minutes of The Athletic’s NFL reporter Dianna Russini posting the footage on X, it garnered more than 550,000 views.
Hours before the game, Swift flew in from Japan, where she recently recommenced her record-breaking Eras Tour, to cheer on Kelce. The pop star watched the game from the V.I.P. area, alongside rapper Ice Spice and actress Blake Lively.
Swift and Travis Kelce became one of the hottest new celebrity couples after going public with their romance in September. At the time, Swift captured headlines when she attended a Chiefs game alongside her partner’s mother, Donna Kelce.
Singer Swift has since become a fixture at Chiefs games, with NFL broadcasts often focusing on her presence—much to the exasperation of some football fans.
“I’m just there to support Travis,” Swift recently told Time. “I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and p****** off a few dads, Brads, and Chads.”
Addressing the cameras often panning her way, Swift said: “I don’t know how they know what suite I’m in. There’s a camera, like, a half-mile away, and you don’t know where it is, and you have no idea when [the] camera is putting you in the broadcast, so I don’t know if I’m being shown 17 times or once.”
