Van Jones, a CNN commentator, stated that former President Donald Trump could choose anyone, even Kermit the Frog, as his running mate and still receive Republican votes.
Jones made this comment in response to host Wolf Blitzer’s question about Trump’s potential vice presidential finalists, many of whom have previously criticized him.
Jones noted that Trump no longer needs to consolidate the party, as he has complete control and can act as he pleases without consequence from the party.
According to Jones, Trump’s hold on the party is so strong that he could choose anyone as his running mate and still receive the same level of support from Republicans.
