US President Joe Biden has been deemed “fit for duty” following his annual medical examination, a significant evaluation as he gears up for potential re-election in November.
As the oldest president in US history, questions surrounding Biden’s ability to serve another term have intensified with the approaching election. Biden would reach the age of 86 by the end of a potential second term.
In a detailed six-page memo from his physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, Biden, described as a “healthy, active, robust 81-year-old male,” has been assessed as capable of effectively executing the duties of the presidency. The examination, which lasted over two and a half hours, revealed no new health concerns, and Biden reportedly “feels well.”
Dr. O’Connor noted Biden’s successful adaptation to a new device aiding his sleep apnea management and some hip discomfort, balanced with a disciplined exercise regimen of five workouts per week.
This year’s evaluation mirrors Biden’s previous examination in February last year, where Dr. O’Connor similarly affirmed his fitness for presidential duties.
