Japanese lawmakers have formed a group to investigate UFO sightings, suggesting they could be surveillance drones or weapons.
This follows a U.S. Defense Department report highlighting the region as a “hotspot” for such sightings. The non-partisan group, including former defense ministers, will push for enhanced detection and analysis of unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP).
With UFOs gaining political attention in the U.S., Japan aims to align its perception with its ally’s, especially after recent surveillance scares. “It is extremely irresponsible to ignore the unidentified,” said former defense minister Yasukazu Hamada, emphasizing the need for serious investigation.
