Trump Blasts Iowa, N.H. GOP Govs after victories: ‘Both are extremely unpopular’

Former President Donald Trump on Wednesday slammed the Republican governors of Iowa and New Hampshire, who both endorsed other candidates in the GOP primary, as “extremely unpopular” in a post on his social media platform Truth Social.

“I have now beaten the once very popular sitting Governor of Iowa, and the once fairly popular sitting Governor of New Hampshire – and now BOTH are extremely unpopular within their States, and within the Republican Party!” Trump touted.

Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds endorsed Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who dropped out of the race almost a week after coming in second place to Trump in the Iowa caucuses. DeSantis has since endorsed Trump.

For his part, New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu endorsed former U.N. ambassador Nikki Haley in December — but his backing was not enough to aid Haley in the Granite State, where she fell to the former president by 11 percentage points on Tuesday. Haley has since vowed to remain in the race.
