A 15-year-old boy fatally shot his father in self-defense after the man fired a shotgun at the boy’s mother and then turned the weapon on him,” revealed West Virginia State Police on Thursday.
According to state police, Maxwell Laham’s wife and one child managed to escape after he discharged a 12-gauge shotgun at his wife on Wednesday night in Rock Cave.
Remaining in the house, Laham’s teenage son retrieved a 20-gauge shotgun and sought refuge upstairs, stated the police report. As Laham pursued his son and aimed his firearm at him, the son acted in self-defense, firing a fatal shot at his father’s chest, as detailed by the police.
