Owners of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus devices may be eligible for compensation as part of a $35 million settlement concerning audio chip issues.
The settlement stems from a 2019 lawsuit filed in the US District Court for the Northern District of California, addressing complaints about problems with FaceTime, the loudspeaker, Siri, and the voice memo app.
Users who experienced these issues or paid for related repairs between September 16, 2016, and January 3, 2023, could receive up to $349 in compensation. Despite the settlement, Apple denies any wrongdoing or defect in the devices.
Eligible users will receive notifications via email or postcard, with a deadline to file a claim by June 3.
