Sean Kingston was transferred to a Florida jail after his arrest on May 23.
The rapper was charged with fraud reportedly with over a $1M price tag. He was taken into custody last week and transferred on Sunday where a mugshot was snapped of the inmate upon being booked in, according to inmate records viewed by The Mirror. His bond was set at $10,000 for each of his nine charges.
Sean’s mother, Janice Turner, was also implicated in the investigation, being hit with her own charges. She, too, was arrested on May 23, but went straight to the Florida jail with no need for extradition. Janice made her $160,000 bond and was released from prison on Sunday. However, as of Monday afternoon, records show that Sean is still behind bars without an expected release date noted.
The cuffs come after officials raided Sean’s rented mansion. In response to the search, Sean wrote online: “People love negative energy! I am good and so is my mother! … My lawyers are handling everything as we speak.”
Following his arrest, Officer Carey Codd told The Mirror: “Police in Fort Irwin, CA, arrested Kisean Anderson, aka Sean Kingston (2/3/1990) without incident on a Broward Sheriff’s Office arrest warrant for numerous fraud and theft charges.”
Sean is additionally reported to be entangled in civil lawsuits, including an accusation from Ver Ver Entertainment. The company claimed they installed an entertainment system for Sean, but he allegedly failed to pay up $150,000. An attorney for the company told WDLG : “He basically has a sales pitch that he goes through to defraud people. He induces them into giving him really expensive things.”
