Russia is telling its reluctant soldiers “death does not exist” as one of Putin’s mouthpieces claimed the country’s invasion of Ukraine is a “holy war”.
Putin’s propagandists are resorting to desperate measures to recruit more volunteers to the failing war effort. State TV host Vladimir Solovyov made the outlandish claim that the invasion of Ukraine is a “holy war”, predicting it would lead to a “global jihad” against the West.
Deputy of the State Duma Vyacheslav Nikonov went even further, claiming that Russia is “the embodiment of the forces of good,” before adding: “This is truly a holy war we’re waging and we must win.”
The war in Ukraine shows no signs of coming to an end more than two years after Putin’s invasion and there have been a steady stream of stories about dissatisfaction in the Russian army, the Daily Beast reports.
Artemiy Vladimirov, archpriest of the Russian Orthodox Church, claims soldiers fighting for Russia get resurrected after they are killed in an attempt to boost the ranks.
