GOP lawmakers, spearheaded by Sen. Marco Rubio, urge President Biden to delete his TikTok account due to national security concerns.
The call came in a letter signed by several Republicans, including Senators Jerry Moran, Marsha Blackburn, and Representatives Elise Stefanik, among others.
They argue that TikTok, owned by ByteDance, poses risks, particularly as it targets young Americans. Despite Biden’s campaign using TikTok, the lawmakers stress that its ties to China are alarming. Last year, the White House directed federal agencies to remove TikTok from government devices.
The letter questions Biden’s stance on the app’s risks, given previous concerns raised by his administration.
