Pochettino: “I don’t sense fan adoration” at Chelsea

Mauricio Pochettino finds himself at odds with Chelsea fans following a contentious draw against Brentford, where calls for his dismissal echoed through the stadium.

Despite initially leading the game through a Nicolas Jackson header, Pochettino’s team faced setbacks, notably Mads Roerslev’s equalizer and Yoane Wissa’s stunning overhead kick that put Brentford ahead.

As frustration mounted, sections of the Chelsea faithful voiced their discontent, clamoring for Pochettino’s removal while invoking the name of former manager Jose Mourinho.

Anxiety turned to relief for Pochettino as Axel Disasi salvaged a late draw, sparing Chelsea from further humiliation in what has been a tumultuous season under the Argentine’s leadership.

However, the atmosphere was far from celebratory for Pochettino, especially on his 52nd birthday, as he acknowledged the fans’ dissatisfaction.

Responding to queries about the chants, Pochettino admitted, “I’ve been told, I didn’t hear to be honest, it’s difficult for me to understand. But it’s normal, we were losing the game 2-1 and they expressed their frustration.

I am one of the ones responsible, I’m the coach. I was asked before if I feel the love from the fans? No.”
