Netanyahu’s talks with US senate, snubs Biden

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is poised to engage in discussions with Republican Senators, seen by many as a rebuke to President Biden following recent White House comments praising Democrat Chuck Schumer’s remarks on new Israeli leadership.

The 74-year-old Prime Minister is scheduled to address GOP lawmakers via video call during the conference’s regular lunch meeting on Wednesday, as reported by Punchbowl News.

While Netanyahu’s participation remains tentative, this move comes after last week’s failed attempt to address Republicans at a policy retreat, despite being invited by Wyoming Senator John Barrasso.

President Biden reportedly reached out to Netanyahu this week in efforts to ease tensions, following his praise for Schumer’s critique labeling Netanyahu as an ‘obstacle to peace’ during a recent speech.
