Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg opposes Trump request to lift gag order after hush money trial

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg opposes former President Donald Trump’s request to lift the gag order in his hush money case. Despite the trial’s conclusion, Bragg argues the gag order is still needed to protect the integrity of the proceedings and ensure the orderly administration of justice.

Prosecutors emphasized that the interests behind the gag order remain relevant. Bragg suggested maintaining the gag order through the sentencing hearing and post-trial motions. Defense attorney Todd Blanche argued the gag order is no longer warranted, writing to the court on Tuesday to support its removal.
