‘I’m having a baby with my prison inmate husband – I was determined to get pregnant’

DAILY STAR

A woman has revealed she “made sure” to fall pregnant with her prison lag husband. Monique McCall is excitedly awaiting baby number four after finding out she was expecting a child with partner Arthur.

The pair already share a one-year-old, Zion, while Monique also has two older children from a past relationship.

Monique and Arthur hit it off after a friend put them in touch while he was 10 years into his sentence. They started exchanging letters, which soon turned into daily phone calls. Finally they met face to face after six months.

Just months later Arthur proposed and they tied the knot the following year. Chatting to Truly TV, Monique said: “We just found out we’re pregnant again. So number four is on the way.” She also confessed: “I made sure I planned the visit around my ovulation and sure enough I was successful.”

Thanks to laws in their native California, Arthur and Monique can enjoy overnight visits. But it could be nearly 30 more years before the couple get to live together, as Arthur’s release is scheduled for 2053.

A hopeful Monique continued: “His first parole date is 2033 so that is a huge possibility that he will be coming home.” However, not everyone is so excited about their relationship – her family members have their doubts. “They think that I’m going to get used when he comes home,” she said. “Some family members disapprove because they know the victim’s family.”
