French President Emmanuel Macron has embarked on a significant three-day state visit to Germany, marking the first such visit by a French president in 24 years. This trip, at the invitation of German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, aims to underscore the unique relationship between France and Germany. Macron’s visit commenced with his arrival in Berlin, where he and Steinmeier are set to engage in various events and travel to several regions across Germany.
The visit began with the Celebration of Democracy in Berlin’s government district, an event commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Basic Law, West Germany’s democratic constitution adopted post-World War II. Following this, Macron is scheduled to receive a formal welcome with military honors at Schloss Bellevue in Berlin.
