Four people were killed and over two dozen injured when a passenger train collided with a goods train in Pardubice, Czech Republic, approximately 100 kilometers east of Prague.
The head-on collision occurred just after 11pm on Wednesday as the passenger train, carrying more than 300 passengers, was en route to Ukraine. Alena Kisiala, a spokeswoman for local emergency services, confirmed the fatalities to Czech TV. Among the 24 injured, three are in serious condition.
The train was traveling from Prague to Chop, a town near the Slovakian border, and many passengers were foreign nationals.
