A “bullied” Russian paratrooper went on a rampage in occupied Ukraine and allegedly killed three of his comrades.
Dmitry Kurlygin, 35, used his military AK-74 assault rifle to shoot three other servicemen near Bakhmut in Donetsk region, according to Telegram channel Spy Dossier.
A search is underway for the soldier who drove away with his Kalashnikov weapon from the camp where they were deployed. The report said the perpetrator was a suspected victim of “psychological and physical violence” while serving in the elite 217th Parachute and Airborne Regiment of the 98th Airborne Division of the Russian Airborne Forces.
Other soldiers revealed the three had bullied him, reported the channel which has close links to Russia’s “special services”. It was stated on Telegram: “Kurlygin, being in a state of alcoholic intoxication, shot three fellow soldiers from his service AK-74. According to fellow servicemen, the reason for this act was a long-standing conflict between Kurlygin and the dead servicemen.
“[They] had been abusing Kurlygin in every possible way since his transfer to the 217th Airborne Division, using psychological and physical violence against him.” The “last straw” was a demand that the attacker hand over his war pay to the three men, it was alleged.
