Nadav Popplewell died in captivity after being abducted during Oct 7 attack, IDF confirms
Israel has confirmed that Nadav Popplewell, a 51-year-old British-Israeli, was killed in Gaza while being held hostage by Hamas. Popplewell was abducted on October 7, the day of Hamas’ attack on Israel, and was later shown in a video with a black eye.
Hamas claimed he died from wounds sustained in an Israeli airstrike, but new intelligence suggests he was killed months ago in Khan Younis, along with three other hostages: Chaim Peri, Yoram Metzger, and Amiram Cooper.
This news comes after his mother, Hannah Peri, was released in November as part of a temporary ceasefire.
