Boeing faces new whistleblower allegations: Incorrectly drilled holes on 787 planes raise safety concerns

Richard Cuevas, a former contractor for Boeing and Spirit AeroSystems, claims he witnessed substandard manufacturing of 787 Dreamliner planes, which could lead to a “catastrophe down the line”.

Cuevas alleges that workers were drilling holes larger than specified, potentially causing loss of air pressure and power failure, and that his concerns were ignored and he was subsequently fired.

Cuevas is the latest in a string of whistleblowers to come forward with allegations of safety and quality control issues at Boeing, including claims of faulty parts, concealed defects, and ignored safety procedures.

Boeing planes have experienced several recent technical issues, including emergency landings, lost tires, and a door plug coming off in mid-air, raising further concerns about the company’s safety and quality control practices.
