The 37-year-old encountered three men attempting to steal the catalytic converter from his parked vehicle and suffered fatal injuries in the confrontation. The incident occurred early on Saturday, and Wactor was pronounced dead at the scene. His agent, David Shaul, described him as an “outstanding human being” who was generous and caring. Wactor’s death leaves a significant void in the hearts of those who knew him.
According to Wactor’s mother, Scarlett, her son was returning to his car after work and mistakenly thought the man tampering with his vehicle was a tow truck driver. When he approached to inquire, he was shot immediately. The suspect fled the scene with two accomplices, and no arrests have been made. Scarlett described her son’s death as “senseless.” The theft of catalytic converters has become increasingly common due to the valuable metals they contain, making them attractive targets for thieves.
