Former President Donald Trump secured a triumph in the Missouri Republican caucuses on Saturday, clinching another significant win ahead of Super Tuesday, as reported by the Associated Press.
In the Missouri Republican caucuses, if a candidate garners more than 50% of the vote at a caucus site, they are entitled to all of the site’s delegates to the national convention. However, if no candidate attains a majority of support, the delegates are distributed proportionally among the contenders. Additionally, any faction of candidate supporters receiving less than 15% of caucus votes is required to dissolve, and their votes can be redirected to another candidate if they so choose.
According to regulations, caucus sites must submit their results to the state party by 5 p.m. local time. However, the duration the party will take to tabulate the results remains uncertain.
Only voters who have pledged their allegiance to the Missouri Republican Party by signing an oath were permitted to partake in the caucuses. The traditional primary in the state was replaced by caucuses following the enactment of a law in 2022.
