Spanish authorities found a body in La Cala, believed to be Russian defector Maksim Kuzminov, who flew a military helicopter into Ukraine last year. Ukrainian officials confirmed his death.
Russian intelligence labeled him a “traitor” and “criminal.” Kuzminov was advised by Ukrainian authorities to remain in Ukraine due to potential Russian retaliation. His body was discovered with gunshot wounds and signs of being run over.
Initially misidentified as a Ukrainian, further investigation revealed his true identity. The Kremlin claimed ignorance of the incident. Russian authorities condemned Kuzminov’s actions, while Spanish police continued investigating his death.
