The U.S. support for Ukraine has not changed, although the pre-election situation is having an impact, Head of the President’s Office of Ukraine Andriy Yermak said.
“Today we have full support from both parties of Congress. I would like to emphasize that I met with the Speaker of the House of Representatives twice in Washington. Then we held these meetings together with President Zelenskyy. We returned with positive feelings. We do not have the feeling that the support of the United States towards Ukraine has somehow changed,” he told Interfax-Ukraine.
“But, of course, they [the United States] have already entered the period of presidential elections. They have their own internal phenomena, but the attitude towards us has not changed. And it seems to me that the level of support from them is still very high,” he said.
Answering a question about the influence of Donald Trump’s point of view on the position of Republicans, Yermak said “it is crucial to separate the election rhetoric and concrete steps. But we know exactly about the position of the Americans…
