Thousands of ultranationalist Israelis marched through a Palestinian neighborhood in Jerusalem’s Old City, chanting “Death to Arabs” and other incendiary slogans on Wednesday.
The march, a potential flashpoint amid the Israel-Hamas war, saw scuffles with police and harassment of journalists. This annual event has previously sparked significant conflict, including an 11-day war in Gaza three years ago.
The ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict began with a deadly Hamas attack on October 7, leading to a severe Israeli offensive in Gaza, resulting in over 36,000 Palestinian deaths and massive displacement, according to local health officials.
