Stormy Daniels celebrated Donald Trump’s conviction by liking a post from comedian Kathy Griffin, a long-time adversary of the former president. The jury in Trump’s New York criminal trial found the ex-business mogul guilty of 34 counts of falsifying business records, related to alleged hush money payments made to Daniels before the 2016 election. Daniels, an adult film star whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, claims to have had a brief affair with Trump in 2006—a claim Trump denies. Trump, who pleaded not guilty and plans to appeal the verdict, has consistently argued that the trial is politically motivated, labeling the outcome a “disgrace.”
Following the conviction, Griffin expressed gratitude to Daniels on X, formerly known as Twitter, writing, “Thank you Stormy Daniels” and tagging her in the post, which has garnered over 361,000 views. Daniels acknowledged the post by liking it.
Meanwhile, Newsweek has reached out to both Daniels and a representative for Trump for comments. It is reported that Trump instructed his former lawyer Michael Cohen to pay Daniels $130,000 to ensure her silence about the alleged affair, with Trump supposedly reimbursing Cohen through monthly installments misrepresented as “legal fees.”
