A woman in Kentucky is facing accusations of attempting to flush a newborn down a toilet at an IHOP restaurant, according to local police. On May 29, officers responded to a call from a witness who reported a bleeding woman in the bathroom who may have miscarried and was trying to dispose of the baby in the toilet. An arrest citation from the Bowling Green Police Department indicated that authorities discovered what appeared to be a “recently born infant” in the bathroom, but the baby was deceased by the time officers arrived.
The 35-year-old suspect fled the scene on foot when she realized police had been called, but she was later found standing in the parking lot of a nearby Red Roof Inn. Despite the circumstances, the woman denied being pregnant or giving birth and refused medical evaluation, police reported.
