Ukrainian intelligence’s drone strikes sink several Russian vessels in Crimea

The Russian Ministry of Defence reported that eight American ATACMS operational-tactical missiles were intercepted over the Sea of Azov during the past night, along with eight drones and two unmanned boats near the occupied Crimea coast on the Black Sea. These developments come amidst escalating tensions in the region, with air and naval assets being heavily deployed. Russian forces executed 32 air sorties using a variety of aircraft, including Su-27/30/35, MiG-29, Be-12, An-26, and helicopters such as Ka-27/29 and Mi-8, to counter the approaching threats near the Vuzka Bay by the village of Chornomorske.

In a related development, Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) confirmed the destruction of two Russian boats in occupied Crimea during the night of May 30. The destroyed vessels, identified as high-speed KS-701 “Tuna” landing crafts, were targeted by Ukrainian Magura V5 marine strike drones employed by “Group 13” of Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence. These diesel-powered boats, manufactured by the Kostroma shipbuilding plant, are used by Russian security forces and for various operations by Putin’s oligarchs.
