In a dramatic turn at Donald Trump’s hush money trial, defense lawyer Todd Blanche urged a Manhattan jury not to convict the former president based solely on the testimony of Michael Cohen. During his closing arguments on Tuesday, Blanche emphasized the unreliability of Cohen, listing other witnesses like adult film star Stormy Daniels and her former attorney Keith Davidson, whom he accused of extortion.
Blanche firmly asserted, “You should want and expect more than the testimony of Michael Cohen.” He reiterated that President Trump is innocent and argued that the prosecution had not met their burden of proof.
As the trial resumed after a weeklong break, both the defense and prosecution presented their final arguments in Manhattan Supreme Court. Blanche passionately argued that no conviction should be based on Cohen’s words alone, insisting, “You cannot convict President Trump of any crime on the words of Michael Cohen.”
He stressed that Trump did not commit any crimes and that the District Attorney had failed to provide sufficient evidence. The jury will soon deliberate on the outcome of this historic case, marking a critical moment in the legal battles surrounding the former president.
