Weather warnings have been issued for heavy showers, thunderstorms, and a small chance of flash floods, posing a “danger to life,” according to the Met Office. Three yellow warnings for thunderstorms have been issued, affecting parts of England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland from midday until midnight on Tuesday. The warnings are in place from 12pm to 9pm in Northern Ireland, 2pm to 7pm in England, and 3pm to midnight in Scotland.
The most severely impacted areas are expected to be the east of Northern Ireland, the southernmost parts of Scotland, and parts of northern England, where 20 to 30 mm of rain may accumulate over the evening. The Met Office has also highlighted additional hazards, including frequent lightning, hail, and gusty winds, which could exacerbate the dangerous conditions. Residents in these regions are advised to stay alert and take necessary precautions.
