Huge 160mph crash at Monaco Grand Prix halts Formula One race

The Monaco Grand Prix was brought to a dramatic halt during the opening lap following a massive collision involving Formula One drivers Sergio Perez and Kevin Magnussen. The incident also ensnared Magnussen’s Haas teammate Nico Hulkenberg, but remarkably, all three drivers emerged from the wreckage unharmed.

Perez, starting from the 16th position on the grid, found himself careening into the wall after Magnussen’s front-left wheel collided with the rear-right of the Red Bull driver’s car.

The impact left Perez’s vehicle severely damaged, with all but one of its wheels torn off. Despite the severity of the crash and the extensive debris strewn across the track, Perez remarkably avoided any injuries and was not even required to undergo a medical evaluation. However, with safety concerns mounting and the track littered with wreckage, race officials made the decision to suspend the event.
