Devastating fire at India amusement park claims 27 lives, including children

Rajkot, India – A catastrophic fire erupted at an amusement park in Rajkot, Gujarat, on Saturday evening, resulting in the tragic deaths of at least 27 people, including several children. The blaze broke out unexpectedly, causing chaos and panic among visitors.

Police Commissioner Raju Bhargava confirmed that the fire is now under control, and a comprehensive rescue operation is underway. Radhika Bharai, a police officer, reported to the Press Trust of India that the bodies of 27 victims have been recovered, but identification has been challenging due to the charred condition of the remains. Among the deceased are four children under the age of 12.

Emergency services were quickly deployed to the scene, and efforts are ongoing to determine the cause of the fire. 

Police said they have detained the owner and the manager of the amusement park for questioning as they launched an investigation in the cause.
