White House national security communications adviser John Kirby attributed Iran’s recent attacks on Israel to former President Trump, suggesting Trump’s policies emboldened Iran.
In an interview with Shannon Bream on “Fox News Sunday,” Kirby discussed the escalation in the Middle East under the Biden administration. Despite Israel successfully repelling the attack with assistance from allies like the U.S., Kirby faced questions about the Biden administration’s policies on Iran, including sanctions waivers.
Bream pressed Kirby on whether the administration could have taken a tougher stance on Iran, to which Kirby defended Biden’s actions, emphasizing that the previous administration’s withdrawal from the Iran deal had brought Iran closer to potential nuclear weapons capability.
