Tory MP apologizes for leaking colleague’s phone numbers on Grindr

A senior Conservative MP has said he is ‘mortified’ and ‘so sorry’ after admitting his involvement in a honeytrap sexting scandal.

William Wragg, chair of a Commons select committee, told The Times he had given the personal phone numbers of MPs, Commons staff and a political journalist to a man he met on Grindr, a gay dating app.

He admitted providing the contact details after he had sent intimate pictures to the Grindr user, saying he was ‘scared’ the man ‘had compromising things on me’.

The Grindr user then went on to send several unsolicited flirtatious messages to victims, identifying themselves as ‘Charlie’ or ‘Abi’.
